Privacy Policy Overview
Thanks for your interest in Seethroo. Seethroo is a behavioral targeting and audience measurement company. We record information that describes how the websites in our partner network are being used by their customers. We use this information for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to: - helping online advertising networks present ads on webpages,
- measuring overall activity throughout our network,
- learning what web sites and pages are the most popular,
- and other uses.
PII Policy
Because our business relies on the relationships we have with the sites in our network, we take the privacy of our partners' data extremely seriously. Seethroo does not record nor process any personally-identifiable information ("PII") from our partner sites that reveals a user's identity, nor do we request from our partners any such data. PII can include email addresses, demographic information like age and gender, and usernames. Seethroo partners do not share any PII with us. In all cases, the only place where PII is stored is within the internal records of our partner sites, which Seethroo has no access to. Instead, Seethroo uses a randomly-generated number to represent customers in our internal database. This number is arbitrary and used to distinguish one set of actions/behaviors from another.
Data Collected
Seethroo collects some non-PII data that is commonly used by web sites, such as: - the type of Web browser being used
- the time of day when the customer's behavior occurred
- the IP number of the customer's computer
This information helps us and our partner sites customize our technologies and respond to the needs of customers better. Seethroo also collects data about the webpages customers access, and/or any tags used to describe those pages. We aggregate this data to identify groups of people who may be interested in a product or service. We also use the aggregated data for general insights about online activity across our network.
Legal Requirement
In the event of a legal action, subpoena, or request from law enforcement, Seethroo will comply with all authorities in whatever way best fulfills the requirements of the action. In those cases where PII is required, Seethroo will refer the authorities to the relevant partner site where the PII is on file.
Sale, Liquidation or Dissolution
If Seethroo is sold, its assets liquidated or the company dissolved entirely, our data will be handled in accordance with the specifications of the particular transaction, if any. In some cases this may mean transferring our data to a third party.
